Quick overview

What appointment booking software does.

Appointment booking software
It shows the other person the times you've opened up for a specific occasion and lets them pick one themselves. The difference from a shared calendar: you open up only what should be bookable, and each occasion has its own duration.
Example
A coach offers a 30-minute intro call on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a 90-minute coaching session on Fridays. Prospects get the first link, clients the second.
Common mistakes
  • Share your whole calendar instead of fixed time slots per occasion
  • Using one link for everything even though initial consultation and workshop have different lengths
  • Choosing a tool without checking how it works with your own calendar

How you know it's time

Three characters, that the email back-and-forth gets too expensive.

  • A half-hour call takes three or four emails back and forth.
  • Prospects drop off because days pass between inquiry and a confirmed appointment.
  • You piece together this week's upcoming conversations from your inbox and calendar.

Selection guide

What matters in appointment booking software.

Eight criteria, pre-weighted for consultancies, coaches and agencies. Set what is a must-have, nice-to-have or irrelevant for you and see right away where Peak One fits and where it's still open.

  1. Booking link with approved times

    Available in Peak One

The other person sees only the times you've approved for the occasion and picks one themselves.

Peak One: In Booking you define when people can book you and share a booking link for that.

How important is “Booking link with released times” to you?
  2. Multiple appointment types

    Available in Peak One

Initial consultation, consulting, and check-in, each with its own duration and times.

Peak One: Each appointment type has its own duration and availability, and several booking pages run side by side.

How important is “Multiple appointment types” to you?
  3. Protection against double bookings

    Not yet verified

A slot disappears as soon as it's booked or something is already in the calendar.

Peak One: Whether Booking hides busy times from your calendar isn't described on the website. Check this in the app before deciding.

How important is “Protection against double bookings” to you?
  4. Connect calendar

    Available in Peak One

Booked appointments land where you plan your day, without retyping them.

Peak One: Connected to Google Calendar, appointments flow into your daily plan in Peak One.

How important is “Connecting a calendar” to you?
  5. Bookings overview

    Available in Peak One

Which appointments are booked and which booking page they came through.

Peak One: Booking has overviews for booked appointments and for bookings per booking page.

How important is “Overview of bookings” to you?
  6. Reminders before the appointment

    Not yet verified

A message to both sides so the appointment isn't forgotten.

Peak One: Reminders aren't documented on the website and are therefore not promised.

How important is “Reminders before the appointment” to you?
  7. Bookable on your own website

    Partial

Booking directly on your own site instead of just through a link.

Peak One: You put the booking link on your site, in an email, or behind a QR code. Whether the booking can be embedded in a page isn't documented.

How important is “Bookable on your own website” to you?
  8. Keep using your existing booking tool

    Available in Peak One

If you already have a booking tool, you still want to see the appointments in one place.

Peak One: Calendly can be connected to Peak One: booked appointments, cancellations, and who booked.

Watch out for this:

  • Protection against double bookings: Whether Booking hides busy times from your calendar isn't described on the website. Check this in the app before deciding.

The weighting is a suggestion. Adjust it to your team; nothing is saved.

Example from practice

A consultation, from talk to confirmed appointment.

  1. TriggerAfter a talk, several attendees want an initial consultation
  2. 01 · Appointment typeCreate appointment typeInitial consultation, 30 minutes.
  3. 02 · AvailabilityOpen up timesTuesday and Thursday mornings.
  4. 03 · Booking linkDistribute the linkOn the last slide, as a QR code and in the follow-up email.
  5. 04 · OverviewView bookingsWho chose which appointment.
Result: The conversations are spread across the times you've opened up, without a single scheduling email. Connected to Google Calendar, they appear in your daily plan.

Booking in Peak One

What's included today.

Only what's documented on the Booking app page and in the integration catalog. Anything missing there appears in the selection guide as “Not yet documented.”

Is this right for you?

Put in honest perspective.

Peak Atlas runs this page. That's why it also says when a specialized booking system is a better fit.

Peak One is a good fit if

  • You schedule initial consultations, consulting sessions, or check-ins and want to get rid of scheduling by email.
  • You work alone or in a small team with a few clear appointment types.
  • Appointments should land where your daily plan, customers, and tasks live.

Something else fits better if

  • You already need documented reminders, payment at booking, or resources such as rooms and equipment.
  • You schedule appointments for many employees with shifts or treatment rooms, such as in a medical practice.
  • If your booking tool works well, keep using it and connect Calendly to Peak One instead of replacing it.

Frequently asked questions

Briefly answered.

What sets appointment booking software apart from a shared calendar?

A shared calendar shows when you're busy. Appointment booking software shows only the times you've opened up for a specific occasion, with a fixed duration, and lets the other person book on their own.

How many appointment types do I need?

As many as you have different occasions with their own duration. For most service providers, two or three are enough: a short initial consultation, a longer appointment, and a check-in for existing customers.

What should I test before deciding?

Book an appointment with yourself through the link. Check whether the slot disappears afterward, whether it shows up in your calendar and what details the other person has to provide. For Peak One, the calendar connection is documented; double-booking protection and reminders are not yet described on the website.

Can I keep my current booking tool?

Yes. Calendly can be connected to Peak One, so you see booked appointments, cancellations, and who booked.

What features does Booking in Peak One have today?

Appointment types with their own duration and availability, one booking link per appointment type, overviews of booked appointments and bookings per booking page, and the connection to Google Calendar. Which plans include Booking isn't stated on the website yet.
