Quick overview

What daily planner software does.

Daily planning
Daily planning puts appointments and tasks in order for a single day. Software for it shows in the morning what is fixed, where there is still time and which tasks come first, instead of a long list with no ranking.
Example
A consultant sees two client appointments in the morning, blocks the time before them for a quote and puts it at the top as the day's most important task. What no longer fits, she deliberately moves to tomorrow.
Common mistakes
  • Scheduling more tasks than fit between appointments
  • Scheduling appointments but not blocking time for your own work
  • Re-sorting the whole list every morning instead of setting three priorities

Selection guide

What good daily planning needs to do.

Eight criteria, pre-weighted for freelancers and small teams with client appointments. Set what matters for your day-to-day and see where Peak One fits and where it doesn't.

  1. Tasks on the planned day

    Available in Peak One

A task gets a day without losing its due date.

Peak One: Peak Day shows tasks on the planned day, otherwise on the due date.

How important is “Tasks on the planned day” to you?
  2. Priorities first

    Available in Peak One

The most important tasks are at the top, the rest below.

Peak One: Peak Day puts the three most important things first; Next 3 sets them for the week.

How important is “Priorities first” to you?
  3. Appointments with context

    Available in Peak One

Next to the time, it shows what it's about and what to prepare.

Peak One: In the calendar, you enter appointments with time, title and context. The website does not describe what other fields an appointment has.

How important is “Appointments with context” to you?
  4. Time blocks for your own work

    Available in Peak One

See free time between appointments and reserve it for focused work.

Peak One: The calendar's day view shows free time, and you plan time blocks into the gaps.

How important is “Time blocks for your own work” to you?
  5. Connect your existing calendar

    Partial

Appointments from the calendar you already use, with no retyping.

Peak One: With Google Calendar, appointments flow into your daily planning. Whether the connection syncs in both directions is not described on the website.

How important is “Connecting your existing calendar” to you?
  6. Rescheduling without replanning

    Available in Peak One

What doesn't fit today deliberately lands on another day instead of disappearing.

Peak One: In Peak Day, what doesn't fit today slides to tomorrow, on purpose.

How important is “Rescheduling without replanning” to you?
  7. One task list for day and project

    Available in Peak One

What is done in the daily plan is also done in the project.

Peak One: Peak Day plans the tasks from Peak Board. A task you complete in Day is complete on the board, because it's the same one.

How important is “One task list for the day and the project” to you?
  8. Reminders and mobile app

    Not yet verified

See on the go what's next and get reminded in time.

Peak One: The website does not describe reminders and a mobile app. Check this in the app before deciding.

Daily planning in Peak One

Calendar, day and the three most important things.

Only what is documented on the calendar app page, the Focus feature page and the Peak Day page.

Is this right for you?

Put in honest perspective.

Peak One is a good fit if

  • Your workday consists of client appointments and your own work, which needs room in between.
  • You want the same order every morning: three priorities first, the rest below.
  • Your daily plan should consist of the same tasks your team works on in the board.

Something else fits better if

  • You need a shared team calendar or resource planning. The website does not describe that for the calendar.
  • You plan mostly on the go and need reminders on your phone. Check that in the app first.
  • You only want people to book appointments. For that, appointment booking is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions

Briefly answered.

What is the difference between a daily planner and a calendar?

A calendar shows appointments with times. A daily planner also puts the day's tasks in order and shows where there is time for them between appointments.

How many tasks should I plan per day?

As many as fit between your appointments. Peak One puts three priorities first; the number is a decision aid, not a rule from a study. Anything beyond that sits below or deliberately gets another day.

Daily planning or weekly planning: which do I start with?

With the week. There you choose the three priorities that move your goal forward. Daily planning then spreads them across the days, between appointments.

Can I connect my Google Calendar?

Yes. Appointments from Google Calendar then flow into your daily planning. Signing in with Google alone does not give access to your calendar; you connect it only if you explicitly allow it under Integrations.

Does daily planning work in a team too?

Each person plans their day from the same tasks in Peak Board. That way the plan stays personal and the status still shared. The website does not describe a shared team calendar.
