Focus mode for your own plans

Just one task in front of you. The rest can wait.

Focus works out with you what matters today and what really fits alongside your appointments. After that, only the one task you're working on is on your screen.

After you log in, Focus opens with the question of what you're working on right now.

One task on screen

Simplified sample view with made-up data.

Why change anything

A free Saturday, ten plans, and by evening none is done.

  • You open your list and see everything at once: photo book, taxes, bike repair.
  • You start one thing and shortly after you're already on the next.
  • You take on more than there's room for between the day's appointments.

Until now

  1. Keeping everything that's open in view
  2. Starting several things at once
  3. Switching between tasks
  4. Nothing quite finished by evening

With Focus

  1. Work out what matters today
  2. Compare with today's appointments
  3. Bring one task onto your screen
  4. Finish it, then choose the next

How it works

To your result in 3 steps.

  1. 01

    Work out what matters today

Choose what should really move forward today. Focus puts it next to your appointments so you can see what realistically fits.

  2. 02

    One task on screen

Decide what to start with. From now on, you only see this one task.

  3. 03

    Staying with it

Work on this task until it's done. Then you decide what comes up on your screen next.

What gets better

Three things Focus does for you.

Less on the screen

Your other plans aren't gone, but they don't distract you right now.

Focus shows only the one task you're working on.

One plan that fits the day

You only take on what really fits alongside practice, shopping and the family visit.

Focus compares what matters today against your real calendar.

One question instead of a list

Instead of reading through everything that's open, you only answer: What am I working on now?

The Focus view is built around exactly this question.

In everyday life

Here's how others see it.

Parents

Trigger
The kids are at sports in the morning, and you have two free hours.
With Focus
You bring a single task onto your screen: filling out the daycare paperwork.
Result
The paperwork is done before the kids are back.

Alone

Trigger
This weekend the photo book is finally supposed to get done, but there's so much else.
With Focus
You decide that today only the photo book counts, and you work on it.
Result
Taxes and the bike stay out of sight for today, and the photo book moves forward.

Club volunteers

Trigger
After work you want to write the treasurer's report for the members' meeting.
With Focus
You check what fits alongside your evening appointments and bring only the treasurer's report to the front.
Result
You spend the evening on one thing instead of five.

Before you start.

What's the difference from the daily plan?

The daily plan spreads your tasks across the day and week, with the three most important first. Focus is for the moment you're working: then only the one task you're currently on is on your screen.

And what about Tasks?

In Tasks you collect everything that's open. Focus turns the many into one thing for the moment. You can see how the two work together in the app.

What does it mean that Focus compares against the real calendar?

What matters today sits next to the appointments already set for today. That way you can see whether it fits into the day at all. You can see which calendars are included in the app.

Do my other tasks get lost?

No. Focus shows only one task. The others just aren't on your screen right now; they aren't deleted.

Is there a timer for this?

For work sessions with a recorded result, there's the Focus timer as its own app.

Is Focus separate from my work?

Focus runs here in your personal workspace. A workspace is the area where you work: your personal one or your company's.

What happens when I click “Pick today's task”?

You’ll go to the Peak One login. The “Focus” selection and the destination page are passed along in the link. After you log in, you open this app directly. One account works for all Peak One apps.

What does Focus cost?

Features and usage limits depend on your plan. You'll find the overview on the Pricing page. Clicking “Pick today's task” does not start a paid subscription.

Bring forward the one task that matters today.

Choose what should move forward today and work on it without the rest in view.
