Year planning for your personal year

A year with a few projects instead of a long wish list.

Decide which few projects carry your year and when each is due. The yearly overview shows whether you're on track, and each quarter has a clear focus.

After you log in, Year Planning opens in your personal workspace with the overview of your year.

Why change anything

Twelve resolutions in January, and in October you wonder which still apply.

  • Everything is supposed to happen this year, but nothing has an order.
  • One big project quietly pushes out all the others without you having decided that.
  • By the end of the year, you don't know exactly what worked and what you should drop.

Until now

  1. Long list at the start of the year
  2. Tackling everything at once
  3. Losing track in the fall
  4. New list for next year

With Annual Planning

  1. Set a few projects
  2. Give each project its time in the year
  3. Set one focus per quarter
  4. Look back at the end and decide

How it works

To your result in 4 steps.

  1. 01

    Choose projects

Write down the few projects that should really carry your year, for example a move or continuing education.

  2. 02

    Spread across the year

In the project plan, you decide when each project is due, so not everything starts at once.

  3. 03

    Quarter by quarter

Set a focus for each quarter and check in the yearly overview whether you're on track.

  4. 04

    Look back

In the year in review, you note what worked and what you're stopping.

What gets better

Three things Annual planning does for you.

A few projects, clear order

You decide once, deliberately, what counts this year and when, instead of starting everything at once.

A project plan that shows which projects carry the year and when.

One focus per quarter

You know what you're concentrating on right now and don't have to reweigh every week.

A focus view for the current quarter.

An honest look back

At the end of the year, you see what worked and what you won't continue before you plan the next year.

A year in review alongside the overview of whether you're on track.

In everyday life

Here's how others see it.

Expecting parents

Trigger
Next year a baby, parental leave and maybe a move come together.
With Annual Planning
You enter the three projects and spread them across the quarters.
Result
It's clear what comes first and what can deliberately wait.

Professionals in continuing education

Trigger
Alongside your job, you want to earn a qualification this year.
With Annual Planning
You make continuing education your focus for two quarters.
Result
Other projects deliberately move to the back during this time.

Everyone who takes stock between the years

Trigger
In December you wonder what became of your plans.
With Annual Planning
You go through the year in review.
Result
You start the new year with what worked and without what you're stopping.

Before you start.

How many projects make sense?

Year Planning is built for a few projects. Better three you really tackle than ten that sit side by side.

What's the difference from a list of New Year's resolutions?

Each project gets its time in the year, each quarter gets a focus, and the overview shows whether you're on track.

Can I start in the middle of the year?

Yes. You enter the projects that count for the rest of the year and set a focus for the current quarter.

What happens at the end of the year?

In the year in review, you look at what worked and what you're stopping. You can see how the review is structured in the app.

Can anyone else see my year plan?

Year Planning opens in your personal workspace, separate from a company's workspace.

What happens when I click “Plan my year”?

You’ll go to the Peak One login. The “Annual planning” selection and the destination page are passed along in the link. After you log in, you open this app directly. One account works for all Peak One apps.

What does Annual Planning cost?

Features and usage limits depend on your plan. You'll find the overview on the Pricing page. Clicking “Plan my year” does not start a paid subscription.
