Goal planning for your personal life

Your goals with an honest status, not just as a resolution.

Capture each goal in one sentence. The goals list shows you how it's doing, what's currently blocking it and which goal needs a check-in next.

After you log in, Goals opens in your personal workspace with the list of your goals.

Simplified sample view with made-up data.

Why change anything

Written down in January, not looked at again in May.

  • The goal sits in a note you haven't opened in weeks.
  • You only notice late that a goal hinges on a small thing nobody is tackling.
  • You no longer know exactly which goals still apply and which you've quietly dropped.

Until now

  1. Goal in your head or in a note
  2. Everyday life takes over
  3. Goal slips out of view
  4. Asking at the end of the year what became of it

With Goals

  1. Capture a goal in one sentence
  2. See status and blockers in the goals list
  3. Do a check-in when a goal needs one

How it works

To your result in 3 steps.

  1. 01

    Phrase the goal

Write in one sentence what should come true, for example: In April I'm running a half marathon.

  2. 02

    Status at a glance

In the goals list you see all your goals with their status and what's currently blocking them.

  3. 03

    Do a check-in

A dedicated view shows you which goals need a check-in. There you decide how to proceed.

What gets better

Three things Goals does for you.

All goals on one list

You see which goals you're currently pursuing, instead of hunting for them in scattered notes.

A goals list that shows how all your goals are doing.

Spot blockers early

What's holding a goal up is listed right next to it. That way you deal with it before weeks go by.

The goals list shows what's blocking each goal.

Goal and daily life connected

You see which tasks belong to which goal and know whether anything is happening for it this week.

A goal map shows how goals and the work on them fit together.

In everyday life

Here's how others see it.

Recreational runners

Trigger
You signed up for a half marathon in the spring.
With Goals
You keep the goal on record and use the check-in to see whether you're on track.
Result
You notice early when training stalls, not just shortly before the run.

People in continuing education

Trigger
The language exam is your goal, but since vacation the textbook has been sitting on the shelf.
With Goals
The goals list shows the goal with a check-in due.
Result
You decide consciously whether to keep going or postpone the goal.

Couples and families

Trigger
A project like the vegetable balcony hinges on one question to the landlord.
With Goals
You enter the blocker on the goal.
Result
The next time you look at the list, it's clear what needs to be settled first.

What comes next is already there.

  • Tasks

A goal turns into milestones, routines and this week's tasks, which you complete in Tasks.

Before you start.

How many goals should I create?

Better a few that you actually pursue. A goal is one sentence about what should come true. The clearer the sentence, the easier the check-in.

What is a blocker?

Anything holding a goal up right now, for example an open question or a missing appointment. The goals list shows you what's blocking each goal.

When do I need a check-in?

A dedicated view shows you which goals need a check-in. You can see how that's set up in detail in the app.

How are goals and my tasks connected?

A goal map shows how goals and the work on them fit together. A goal can turn into milestones, routines and this week's tasks.

Can anyone else see my goals?

Goals opens in your personal workspace, separate from a company's workspace.

What happens when I click “Capture first goal”?

You’ll go to the Peak One login. The “Goals” selection and the destination page are passed along in the link. After you log in, you open this app directly. One account works for all Peak One apps.

What does Goals cost?
