Why change anything

An hour at your desk, and afterward you don't know what it brought.

  • You actually want to study, but in between you quickly check something else.
  • After an interruption, you can't quite find your way back into the task.
  • At the end of the evening, you can't say whether you made progress.

Until now

  1. Sitting down and somehow starting
  2. Jumping to other things in between
  3. Stopping when it gets late
  4. Not knowing what came out of it

With Focus Timer

  1. Start a session for one thing
  2. Stay with this one thing
  3. End with a result
  4. See how much focused time you had

How it works

To your result in 4 steps.

  1. 01

    Set the purpose

Start a focus session and write down what you're working on, for example studying chapter 3 for the exam.

  2. 02

    Stick with it

While the session runs, you see what this time is for right now and stay with that one thing.

  3. 03

    End with a result

End the session and note what came out of it. It counts toward your focused time today.

  4. 04

    Look back

In the history you see where your focus time went, and over time also when you work best.

What gets better

Three things Focus timer does for you.

Every session has a purpose

You don't just sit down, you know beforehand what this time is about.

The focus session shows whether one is running and for what.

A result instead of a feeling

At the end, it says what you accomplished, even if it was only a small step.

Every session ends with a result that you record.

Know when you're at your best

You see where your focused time goes and at what times you work best.

Dedicated views for today's focus time, the history and your best working times.

Before you start.

How long is a focus session?

How long you stay with one thing is up to you. You can see which settings the Focus Timer offers for this in the app.

What do I note at the end of a session?

The outcome: what you accomplished or how far you got. That's how you can tell later what the time brought.

Can I see how much I've concentrated?

Yes. There's a view for today's focused time, a history and an analysis of when you work best. You can see what that looks like in detail in the app.

What's the difference from Focus and the daily plan?

The daily plan sets what's due today and this week. Focus shows you only the one task you're working on. The Focus Timer accompanies the time you sit with one thing and records what comes out of it.

Can anyone else see my focus sessions?

The Focus Timer runs in your personal workspace. A workspace is the area where you work: your personal one or your company's.

What happens when I click “Start focus session”?

You’ll go to the Peak One login. The “Focus timer” selection and the destination page are passed along in the link. After you log in, you open this app directly. One account works for all Peak One apps.

What does Focus Timer cost?

Features and usage limits depend on your plan. You'll find the overview on the Pricing page. Clicking “Start focus session” does not start a paid subscription.
