Same words, same meaning.
Leadership teams often argue about words rather than the matter itself. This glossary fixes what the terms mean in Peak Command. It is organised by the four areas; below, the most important terms are explained one by one.
How the glossary is organised.
- Today: what matters right now
- Goals and Plan: where to and by which route
- Decisions: what is settled and why

Today
What matters right now?
- Brief: a few sentences on the situation, each line with its rule and source.
- Top 3: the three things on top today, ranked by visible rules.
- Tension: two goals or plans that currently contradict each other.
You read Today with the same terms as your team.
If you get stuck
Terms from A to Z.
Constraint
The one point that currently limits the growth of the whole company. Peak Command reads it from Peak Constraints. There is only ever one active constraint.
Scenario
A what-if calculation over numbers from Peak Finance and Peak Year. A scenario changes nothing until you apply it in the responsible app.
Coverage
How many of your goals have initiatives, tasks or owners. A goal without coverage is a wish.
Freshness and confidence
How recent a source is and how certain its statement. Peak Command shows both for its sources instead of just putting a number down.
